Since moving back home to New Zealand Stephanie opened Flex Fitness Howick in 2022 and has been wanting to bring Reformer Pilates to Howick ever since. Finally, in 2024 it was possible for her to bring another one of her passions to Howick to fill a gap in the community after she’d been asked every day since opening the gym if they could have Pilates classes. Stephanie has long been a passionate advocate for Pilates both Mat and Reformer. She discovered it when she was living in Bondi and injured her lower back by overdoing it at the gym. After many sessions with physiotherapists and osteopaths to heal her back, both these specialists couldn’t recommend doing Pilates enough due to the benefits it has to help with strengthening core muscles to protect the lower back, improve posture and aid in injury prevention when doing weights at the gym and playing sports. Since 2015 Stephanie has taken part in many different Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates classes around Sydney, Gold Coast and New Zealand. When designing Reformer Works Stephanie wanted to do something different to other Pilates Studios and try to bring a taste of what’s overseas to Howick, which is how the vibrant and glowing colour of the Studio was born. You will see Stephanie in the Studio most days and she is excited to see and encourage people on their unique Pilates journey.
